Stump Grinding & removal

Stump removal will completely remove your stump from your property but is more invasive, and involves the use of chemicals which creates small disturbances to the surrounding soil around the stump. In this process it removes the stump entirely along with the trees roots as well. Stump grinding is a more efficient process, which leaves the roots of the tree behind where it will decompose over time. However, with stump grinding which leave behind the roots there are the risks of regrowth and/ or sprouting in the area. 

After stump grinding, the roots will begin to rot and decay which can take up to ten years to completely decay. We take special precautions to prevent regrowth from occurring which include severing the roots from the base. Depending on the type of tree and its size, its roots are sometimes 4-12 feet or beyond from where the stump is located which is why them naturally decaying over time is such a lengthy process.  

If you don't remove or grind your stump on your property, there are multiple problems that can occur which will come up down the road. Firstly, not removing or grinding your stump can have regrowth which is unsightly to say the least and takes away from your properties appearance. Believe it or not, a full tree can grow from a stump eventually over time which defeats the purpose of removing the tree to begin with. Secondly, rot and decay will occur which attracts insects and creates a breading ground for harmful disease and fungi.

With trying to do the job yourself without the experience and know how there are many reasons that will leave you wishing you didn't. When you remove or grind the stump by yourself, you can easily do more harm then good without properly removing or grinding the stump.
